FAQ

We understand that you may have some questions about our company, services, and Caregivers. Having multiple questions is important when deciding on a home care agency for your loved one.

Here are some of the most common questions we receive from families who are exploring the world of senior home care services:

What is home care?

Home care provides support for seniors or individuals with disabilities who need help with daily activities, allowing them to maintain independence and improve their quality of life. Caregivers assist with tasks like bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping, promoting physical and mental well-being. Home care can include both custodial care, which helps with personal activities of daily living (ADLs), and instrumental care (IADLs), such as managing finances or running errands.

How frequently will need in-home care?

The frequency and intensity of in-home care are tailored to each client’s specific needs, which may change as care progresses. Care plans are adaptable and can be updated at any time to reflect these changes.

What are the benefits of home care?

Home care helps seniors maintain independence and improves their quality of life by offering support in the comfort of their own homes. It reduces the risk of hospitalization, falls, and medication errors while providing companionship and preventing feelings of isolation. Skilled caregivers monitor health changes, ensuring the client’s well-being. Home care also alleviates the burden on family caregivers, providing them with valuable support.

Are your services covered by Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance?

Yes, we accept Medicaid and provide services under various Medicaid waivers, such as the Children’s Home and Community-Based Services Waiver (CHCBS), In-Home Support Services Waiver (IHSS), Brain Injury Waiver (BI), Elderly, Blind, & Disabled Waiver (EBD), and others. For the full list, please contact us. Additionally, some of our services are supported by Veterans Administration benefits and state or local programs. For detailed information on your coverage, please call us.

Are your caregivers trained and certified?

Yes, we ensure that our caregivers are highly qualified through rigorous reference and criminal background checks, both locally and nationally. They receive extensive training in classroom settings, care facilities, and client homes. Many are certified as Home Care Aides or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA). If needed, you can request a new caregiver at any time.

Will I have the same caregiver every time?

We aim to match you with a caregiver who builds a warm and respectful relationship with you. Once your regular schedule is established, we strive to provide the same caregiver for each visit. However, circumstances like vacations, illness, or emergencies may require a substitute caregiver. If this happens, we will ensure a qualified professional is available for your care.

Will my caregiver speak English and be able to drive if needed?

Yes, all our caregivers are fluent in both written and spoken English, and we thoroughly test their language skills. Caregivers who drive on behalf of clients are required to have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and a clean driving record. We regularly update and verify all relevant documentation to ensure client safety.

Do you offer benefits for family caregivers?

Yes, we provide a comprehensive benefits package to support family caregivers. This includes paid training to ensure caregivers are well-prepared, as well as health, dental, and vision insurance for their well-being. Payments are processed weekly, and caregivers benefit from convenient electronic timekeeping. Additionally, they have round-the-clock access to support and agency assistance, ensuring they are never without guidance or resources when needed.

Do you provide care for someone in an assisted living facility?

Yes, we do. Some of our clients live in assisted living facilities. Some residents may require more personalized care or care for longer hours or more frequent visits than the facility can accommodate. Our caregivers will visit the facility to provide home care services, just as they would if they were going to a private home.
